Processes are the fundamental instructions of how businesses should operate. A company with good processes in place, structured to support its people and technology, holds the best recipe for success. But no reward comes without a challenge and defining and maintaining processes that meet best practices can be time consuming and challenging.

Customer’s case: “My employees keep asking me to change or add other types of technology to our processes, indicating what we have is not good enough. Can you help me find a better system?”

This is a very common ask that also drove a common discovery. Early in the assessment we determined that their technology was exactly what they needed, and the challenges the team faced were due to lack of clarity and understanding when and how to use the software. Many customers approach us with the certainty that the cause of their problems is technology, when often what drives their problems is the lack of processes or the right processes in place.

“According to market research firm IDC, companies lose 20 to 30 percent in revenue every year due to inefficient processes.”*

Do you find yourself in a similar situation? See below a few ways to assess the processes in your business system.

Just remember that bad processes lead to bad results. You can have amazing talent and top of the line technology, but lacking good established processes will hinder operations, add frustrations, and affect the overall results. With quick observation you may identify easier ways to make small changes to help your organization thrive.
