GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 7, 2018) – Elliott Davis, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services providers in the Southeast, announces that Jimmy Buddenberg has been named director of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Risk Advisory Services practice. He is based in the company’s Greenville headquarters.

“As the information security landscape continues to evolve and cyber threats become more sophisticated, the need for innovative solutions that mitigate risk has become paramount to business success and sustainability,” says Rick Davis, CEO of Elliott Davis. “Jimmy brings a wealth of experience in managing and delivering IT services, strategy and technical assessments for companies in a wide range of industries, and his expertise will enable our clients to maximize investments while achieving necessary regulatory compliance.”

Under Buddenberg’s direction, Elliott Davis’ Cybersecurity and Risk Advisory Services practice will help companies implement solutions to safeguard their businesses, as well as their customers’ critical assets and data. Specifically, he’ll work with clients to: assess their current cyber security posture; develop tools, policies and procedures that minimize exposure; and integrate a business continuity plan to be used in the event of a cybersecurity breach.

“I’m excited to be joining Elliott Davis. The threat from cyber attacks is one of the most formidable challenges facing today’s businesses,” says Buddenberg, who has more than two decades of experience providing IT and security services to hundreds of companies. “Regardless of an organization’s size or the industry in which it operates, the impact of even a single data breach can be devastating.”

“As a team, we’ll work with clients to identify risks and create strategies to protect their businesses,” he adds. “This, in turn, will empower them to focus on running their enterprises.”

Prior to joining Elliott Davis, Buddenberg most recently served as senior vice president and managing director for Atos, a global IT services company with more than 100,000 employees in 72 countries and annual revenues of approximately $13 billion. In this role, he was responsible for managing an information technology outsourcing (ITO) business servicing the technology, telecommunications, media, utilities, energy and finance industries for North America.

Buddenberg graduated magna cum laude with a B.S., in mathematics/computer science from Muskingum University in Ohio and is currently a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA).
