Photography allows Dunn to fixate on visual artistry to channel his creativity and connect with people, fans, and the Wild West. “I get that same feeling working to capture a picture that I get when I step up to a microphone or sit down to write a song,” he explains. “I want to take memorable photographs. I want to see things.” To the many who enjoy his songwriting and music, the artistry he exhibits through photography isn’t surprising. The images on these pages are a testament to his ability to tell a story visually as well as musically. Think of it as music through a different lens.

A Music Legend

As half of country music’s legendary duo Brooks & Dunn, Ronnie Dunn has achieved levels of success few will ever know. Prior to being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame this April, the band garnered 28 Academy of Country Music Awards, 20 Country Music Association Awards, two GRAMMY Awards, and sold more than 30 million records.

Little wonder Dunn’s pursuit of yet another creative venture into photography has created a buzz. In less than a year, his photography has earned him the featured-artist exhibit at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum and was featured on the cover of Cowboys & Indians’ February/March 2019 issue. Most recently, he teamed with four masters of the craft to launch Lensmen Project, a vehicle to hone his skills and “involve and share the journey with friends along the way.” To learn more about the photography of Ronnie Dunn and to purchase prints, visit lensmenproject.com.
