Elliott Davis Young Professionals Program Recognized by Leading Edge Alliance

GREENVILLE, S.C., Oct. 6, 2014 – Elliott Davis was awarded the 2014 Edge Award for Most Outstanding Young Professionals Program by LEA Global, the second largest international association of accounting firms in the world. The category recognizes the firm’s programs for young professionals, including internship, on-boarding and internal training programs.

“We are honored to be recognized with this award,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Bob Wilson. “Our programs provide our young employees with opportunities to interact with colleagues across all levels and practices and focus on developing skills to help them have a meaningful career experience.”

The firm recently reengineered the firm wide recruiting and onboarding processes for both entry-level and experienced professionals and updated their internship program. Not only do the updated student leadership and internship programs provide participants with more meaningful experiences, but they also incorporate recruitment into the process. In 2014, 76% leadership participants accepted internship offers from the firm and 83% of interns accepted fulltime positions at Elliott Davis.

Additionally, the firm’s Charlotte, North Carolina, office launched a young professionals program focused on networking, community service and professional development. “These professional development sessions have provided me with more than technical training,” said Charlotte assurance senior Danielle Lawson. “I am equipped with tools to increase my involvement with professional associations, resulting in a tremendous amount of professional and personal growth. Learning from more experienced colleagues makes me feel prepared as I network and develop business.”

Program activities provide employees with invaluable experience and a firm wide perspective of business. Interns and new hires are immersed in the Elliott Davis culture and receive exposure to all areas of the firm. The programs build stronger bonds between employees and afford interns and new hires the opportunity to have a consistent experience across offices.
