Elliott Davis Decosimo Is Nationally Recognized for Top Internship Program Fourth Year in a Row

GREENVILLE, S.C. (October 18, 2016) – Elliott Davis Decosimo is pleased to announce the firm was ranked third in the nation for best overall internship by Vault.com, an influential source of ratings and insights for students and professionals. This is the fourth consecutive year Elliott Davis Decosimo ranked among the top four best overall internship programs in the nation.

Vault.com surveyed 8,500 interns about their internship programs to determine an overall score for their experience. The internship experience was rated in five different categories including quality of life, compensation and benefits, interview process, career development and full-time employment prospects. These ratings were then averaged to determine an overall score from 1 to 10 for each program. Elliott Davis Decosimo received a score of 9.73, up from 9.62 in 2016.

The Elliott Davis Decosimo seven week summer internship program, Envision, is designed to give students an opportunity to explore potential career paths, build relationships throughout the firm and obtain valuable work experience in public accounting. The program is built around the Elliott Davis Decosimo mission of making a positive impact on our clients, our people and our communities. During the program, students gain experience working on client engagements, participate in community service projects and are involved in leadership development activities. The Envision class of 2015, 86 students, completed 870 hours of community service and more than 10,000 hours of client service work.

Additional development programs at Elliott Davis Decosimo include Encompass, a student leadership program for undergraduate students, and Engage, an entry-level onboarding experience for first year staff.

“Envision is consistently recognized as a great internship experience because our people know how important this program is to building our workforce of the future.  Many of our current employees are alumni of Envision, and they enjoy teaching others about our culture,” said Chief Human Resources Officer, Robert Wilson. “Our internship is aligned with our mission to make a positive impact on our clients, our people and our communities. Students get involved in important engagements and also take charge of community initiatives. It is important to us that we establish meaningful relationships with them that continue on after their internship.”

In addition to being honored as having one of the best internships, Elliott Davis Decosimo placed first as the best internship for quality of life (office culture, hours, work-life balance, flexibility) by Vault.com. As the second fastest growing firm in the nation, Elliott Davis Decosimo has also been named as a Best Place to Work in South Carolina by SC BIZ for 10 consecutive years and the Charlotte Business Journal’s Best Places to Work for six years.
