Bobbi Jo Lazarus Receives the 2014 Women to Watch Emerging Leader Award

CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 9, 2014 – Elliott Davis, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, is pleased to announce that Bobbi Jo Lazarus has been named one of 2014’s “Women to Watch” by the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA).

A senior tax manager in the firm’s Charlotte office, Lazarus was recognized at the April 30 NCACPA annual awards dinner in Greensboro, N.C.  She was the sole honoree in the Emerging Leader category, which recognizes young CPAs on the rise who have made significant contributions to the accounting profession, their workplaces and their communities.

Lazarus focuses on providing tax planning and compliance services, specifically in the partnership and individual income tax return reporting areas with a specialization in the real estate industry. In addition to generating and managing some of the highest revenue among managers and senior managers in the Charlotte office, she demonstrates leadership within the firm on a daily basis. She mentors colleagues, is actively involved with recruitment efforts and organizes social and wellness initiatives that boost morale and benefit employees.

“Bobbi Jo challenges our staff to think of creative solutions to assist clients and increase tax savings,” said Real Estate Practice Leader, Dan Warren. “Her innovative thought process helps clients thrive and creates opportunities for employees in our practice to learn and grow.”

Lazarus is equally dedicated to improving her community. As a founding member of the Charlotte Fire Department Auxiliary, she served as treasurer and played an integral role in achieving 501 (c)(3) status for the group. In past years, she spearheaded Queen City in Pink, a CREW Charlotte program designed to dress the city of Charlotte pink to raise breast cancer awareness. She currently serves as Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Charlotte president and has participated in Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement and various activities through her church.

Lazarus is involved with a variety of professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and NCACPA.
