CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 8, 2012 – Elliott Davis, PLLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, is pleased to announce that Leah Maybry, a senior manager in its Charlotte office, was honored on Wednesday, March 7 as one of the Charlotte Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.”
At the 19th annual awards event, held at the McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square in Charlotte, Maybry was recognized as one of 40 talented individuals for her professional accomplishments as well as her involvement in the Charlotte community. The Charlotte Business Journal chose young professionals who have shaped the community in ways that have made the region a better place to do business and live.
With more than 13 years of public accounting experience, Maybry focuses on individual income tax compliance and planning for high net worth individuals and their related entities as well as not-for-profit organizations at Elliott Davis. An avid business developer, she has brought in a significant amount of new work to the firm where she also serves as a mentor to colleagues; leads fundraising efforts; and works to implement new policies and procedures. Recently, Maybry introduced Elliott Davis’ “Women, Wisdom, and Wealth” series in Charlotte. This program, created for women and led by women, aims to provide participants with tools and information to successfully navigate economic volatility and make sound financial decisions.
In the community, Maybry is serving her sixth year on the Board of Directors at YWCA Central Carolinas. She served three years as Treasurer, which included chairing the Finance Committee as well as implementing and chairing the Endowment Board. She also serves on the Steering Committee for the Queens Estate Planners Day held each May, as well as the Foundation for the Carolinas Professional Advisors Cabinet.
