Four Elliott Davis Professionals Serving on SCACPA Young Leadership Cabinet

GREENVILLE, S.C., Feb. 16, 2010 – Elliott Davis, LLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, is proud to announce that four of its professionals have been chosen for the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA) Young CPAs Leadership Cabinet.

SCACPA created the Young CPAs Leadership Cabinet last year to prepare young professionals for positions of leadership in the profession, the association, the community and the world. Four professionals from Elliott Davis are now Cabinet members:

K. Leigh Schaefers, CPA has been named Chair of the Executive Committee of the Young CPAs Leadership Cabinet for 2010-11. Schaefers, a Senior Assurance Manager in Elliott Davis’ Charleston, S.C. office, is serving her second year in the program; she was an inaugural member in 2009-10.

Cory Ouellette, CPA is one of seven CPAs named to the Cabinet Class of 2010-11. Ouellette is a Tax Manager in Elliott Davis’ Greenville, S.C. office.

Howard (Howie) Houston, CPA is serving his second year in the program as a member of the inaugural Cabinet Class of 2009-10. Houston is an Assurance Manager in Elliott Davis’ Greenwood, S.C. office.

Marcus D. Tomlinson, CPA is serving his second year in the program as a member of the inaugural Cabinet Class of 2009-10. Tomlinson is an Assurance Manager in Elliott Davis’ Columbia, S.C. office.

Each Cabinet member serves a two-year term beginning May 1st. The target number of members is 20, with 10 cabinet members rotating on and off each year. The mission of the Cabinet is to increase membership and participation in SCACPA by providing young CPAs with networking and leadership development opportunities; to enhance the value of Association membership for young members; to inform the Association leadership about issues important to its young members; and to develop future leaders of the Association, the profession and the community.
