Elliott Davis Shareholder to Speak at “Going Global” Event on Jan. 25 in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 20, 2012 – Kay Biscopink, CPA, chair of Elliott Davis’ International Tax Practice will be speaking at a symposium titled “Going Global: Partnering for International Business Growth” on January 25 at the Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte.

Organized by the British American Business Council North Carolina, the North Carolina Department of Commerce and UK Trade & Investment, the event focuses on the issues, challenges and opportunities Carolinas based companies should consider when seeking to grow through international expansion.

At the seminar, Biscopink will present “Tax Perspectives for Exporters: Indirect Taxation and Duty Drawback,” which will look at how the initial exportation of products and services potentially exposes the exporter to a variety of indirect foreign taxation – and potentially to direct foreign taxation if not structured carefully.

Chaired by Biscopink, Elliott Davis’ International Tax Practice serves both U.S.-based companies that do business internationally and foreign-based companies that operate within the U.S. The team provides services such as transfer pricing analysis, tax strategies, inpatriate and expatriate tax services, accounting regulatory compliance and due diligence.
