Elliott Davis Senior Manager Named Among “Forty Under 40”
CHARLESTON, S.C., Apr. 13, 2010 – Elliott Davis, LLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, is pleased to announce that K. Leigh Schaefers is named among the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” for 2010.
A certified public accountant and senior audit manager in the firm’s Charleston, S.C. office, Schaefers will be recognized at an event on May 13 at The Landing at Shem Creek. At the awards ceremony, the Charleston Regional Business Journal will salute a total of 40 people under 40 years of age who are making their mark with professional success and community involvement.
With 10 years of public accounting experience, Schaefers joined Elliott Davis in 2008 as a manager and was quickly promoted to senior manager within a year. A young leader in her profession, she is currently chairing the executive committee of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA) Young CPAs Cabinet for 2010-11.
At Elliott Davis, Schaefers organizes the Charleston office’s quarterly service project with Lowcountry Orphan Relief; serves as co-campaign director for the annual United Way campaign; and is organizing a volunteer day this month with the Charleston Miracle League. In the greater community, she is a steering committee member for the Trident United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council and participates in many other causes including Rotary of Charleston, March of Dimes, Water Missions International and Westminster Presbyterian Church.
