Elliott Davis, LLC Principal Speaks at South Carolina Healthcare Managers Association (SCHMA) Events Throughout State

Ira Bedenbaugh Serves as Guest Speaker for Coastal, Spartanburg and Sumter Chapters

GREENVILLE, S.C., May 29, 2009 – Elliott Davis, LLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, announced that firm Principal Ira Bedenbaugh recently served as a guest speaker for the Coastal, Spartanburg and Sumter chapters of the South Carolina Healthcare Managers Association in May 2009.

On May 19, Bedenbaugh served as the guest speaker at the Coastal chapter of the SCHMA in Myrtle Beach, S.C. His presentation, “Are You Battle Weary?” addressed how office managers deal with stress in the medical practice.

On May 13, Bedenbaugh spoke to an audience of over 35 healthcare managers at the Spartanburg SCHMA meeting about how to facilitate change in a medical practice.

Bedenbaugh served as a guest speaker at the Sumter SCHMA annual seminar on May 12. His presentation titled “Insurance Companies!” focused on helping healthcare managers understand the intricacies of negotiating managed care contracts with insurance companies.

As the leader of Elliott Davis’s medical practices group, Bedenbaugh focuses on helping physician practices and hospitals improve how they manage short and long-term financial and operational challenges. His responsibilities include analyzing physician practice infrastructure, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing workflow processes and technologies that increase business performance and address government compliance issues.

Bedenbaugh served previously as a principal of Protime LLC, a medical management consulting firm, and the practice administrator of The Family Healthcare Center.

Bedenbaugh earned a bachelor’s degree in financial management and a master’s degree in business administration from Clemson University. He is a former member and past president of the Rotary Club of Laurens, S.C.; former board member and past treasurer of the United Way of Laurens County; former board member of the Laurens Chamber of Commerce and a former board member of Senior Options, also in Laurens.
