GREENVILLE, S.C., Feb. 28, 2012 – Elliott Davis, LLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, is pleased to announce that Shareholder Michael W. Boliek was named among the finalists for the United Way of Greenville County’s inaugural “Young Philanthropists (YP) Mentor of the Year” award.
The YP Mentor of the Year program recognizes individuals who have served as trusted advisors to United Way Young Philanthropists, in business and in life. A certified public accountant in Elliott Davis’ Greenville, S.C. office, Boliek was recognized as one of four finalists on Feb. 23 at an awards ceremony presented by Michelin North America held at the TD Convention Center.
Boliek was nominated for the award by Elliott Davis Senior Manager Jeff Walker, who said: “With his infectious personality and caring nature, Mike has influenced and touched the lives of many throughout his career.”
Judging criteria for the award included 1) the impact the mentor has made in the mentee’s business/professional life; 2) the influence on the mentee’s community involvement; 3) the life lessons provided for improving and shaping the mentee’s business, professional and personal life; 4) the nature of the mentoring relationship; and 5) the characteristics of the mentor.
With more than 25 years of public accounting experience, Boliek focuses in the areas of manufacturing, closely held companies, Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and employee benefit plan audits. In the community, he serves as a board member for Public Education Partners and is a member of the United Way Family Evaluation Team.
