Elliott Davis Adds to Tax Team in Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C., Oct. 14, 2009 – Elliott Davis, LLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, announces the addition of Katie Rollings as senior manager in the firm’s Greenville, S.C. office.

A certified public accountant, Rollings brings more than nine years of public accounting experience to her new role at Elliott Davis where she will focus on providing tax services to high net-worth individuals and families, as well as closely-held businesses and pass-through entities. She formerly worked for a Big Four accounting firm.

Rollings is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA), and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA).

She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in accounting from James Madison University.

Elliott Davis to Hold Community Banking Forums in Columbia and Greensboro

Elliott Davis, LLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, is pleased to announce that it will hold its 2009 Community Banking Forum in two locations this year – Columbia, S.C. and Greensboro, N.C.

The first event will be held on November 16th at the Hilton Columbia Center. The next event will be held on December 2nd at the Greensboro Marriott Downtown. This year’s forums are focused on the upheaval in the economy, specifically in the financial services sector. Topics will include: troubled assets, accounting and auditing, capital markets, tax, financial reporting, the regulatory environment, and issues facing CFOs of community banks. Elliott Davis Named Among “2009 Best Places to Work in South Carolina”

GREENVILLE, S.C., Oct. 9, 2009 – Elliott Davis, LLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, is proud to be named among the “2009 Best Places to Work in South Carolina.”

The firm ranked second in the large company (250 employees or more) category, up from fourth last year and fifth in 2007. All winners were recognized at the 4th annual awards banquet held last night at the Marriott in Columbia, S.C.

Elliott Davis Manager Named Among “Best & Brightest 35 and Under”

GREENVILLE, S.C., Sept. 30, 2009 – Elliott Davis, LLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, is pleased to announce that Matthew Madden has been named among “Greenville First’s Best & Brightest 35 and Under.”

A certified public accountant and tax manager in the firm’s Greenville, S.C. office, Madden was recognized last night at an event held at the BMW Performance Center.

The “Best & Brightest” awards were established by Greenville Magazine in 1994 – each year honoring 25 men and women under the age of 35 as growing leaders in Greenville. Selection is based on business success and volunteer efforts in the community.

Madden is currently serving a three-year term on the board of directors for Professionals United for Leadership and Social Enrichment (PULSE). This year, he co-chaired a PULSE mentoring program designed to give Greenville young professionals the opportunity to learn from seasoned business and community leaders. He is also involved with the History Makers of the Upcountry History Museum.

Elliott Davis Adds Manager to Financial Services Practice

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 24, 2009 – Elliott Davis, PLLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, announces the addition of Christopher R. Purvis as an assurance manager in the firm’s Charlotte office.

A certified public accountant, Purvis brings more than five years of experience to his new role in the financial services practice at Elliott Davis, where he will assist the firm’s community banking clients with audit and consulting services.

Prior to joining Elliott Davis in August 2009, Purvis worked as the controller of a mid-sized community bank and for two regional accounting firms. All three positions were held in Kentucky. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants (KyCPA).

Purvis earned a B.S. in accounting and a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Kentucky.

GREENVILLE, S.C., July 30, 2009 – Elliott Davis Investment Advisors is pleased to announce that Mei L. Au, a financial advisor in the firm’s Greenville, S.C. office, has earned her Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) certification.

Au, also a certified public accountant, passed the Certified Financial Planner™ Certification Exam in May and received her certification in July. She was one of more than 2,000 individuals who sat for the 10-hour, two-day exam nationwide. Covering 89 topic areas, the exam is based on periodic studies of the job knowledge necessary to practice financial planning. This year’s pass rate was 52.3 percent.

At Elliott Davis Investment Advisors, Au serves high net-worth individual clients by providing financial planning, investment planning and wealth management services. She joined Elliott Davis Investment Advisors in 2005. Prior to joining the firm, Au worked for Smith Barney and Legg Mason. She has nearly 10 years of combined experience in the investment field.

Prior to joining Elliott Davis in July 2009, Burgbacher was employed with KPMG and AutoNation.

Elliott Davis Adds Senior Manager to Financial Services Practice

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 28, 2009 – Elliott Davis, PLLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, announces the addition of Michael Suthers as an assurance senior manager in the firm’s Charlotte office.

A certified public accountant, Suthers brings more than 12 years of experience to his new role in the financial services practice at Elliott Davis. He will assist the firm’s financial services clients with a number of services including U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings, Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act (FDICIA) compliance, controls and procedures.

Prior to joining Elliott Davis in July 2009, Suthers served as a senior manager with Dixon Hughes PLLC’s Charlotte office.

ANDERSON, S.C., Jul. 8, 2009 – Elliott Davis Investment Advisors announced it has added William E. Kibler Jr., Edward F. Blackburn Jr., and Jennifer S. Reynolds in the firm’s Anderson, S.C. office.

William E. Kibler Jr. joins Elliott Davis Investment Advisors as senior vice president. A senior portfolio manager with over 28 years experience, Kibler specializes in portfolio management.

Kibler worked with Smith Barney and JC Bradford and Company prior to joining Elliott Davis Investment Advisors.

He received a bachelor’s degree from Erskine College in Due West, S.C.

Kibler is a trustee and board chair with AnMed Health System in Anderson, S.C., and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.

Edward F. Blackburn Jr. joins the Anderson office as senior vice president. He has over ten years experience specializing in financial planning and portfolio management.

Prior to joining Elliott Davis Investment Advisors, Blackburn worked with Smith Barney in Anderson, S.C.

He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C.

Blackburn is a board member of the United Way’s Success by Six program; a board member of the Hanna-Westside Extension Campus Academy of Finance; and alumnus of the Leadership Anderson Class of 2008.

Jennifer S. Reynolds joins Elliott Davis Investment Advisors as client services senior portfolio administrator.

Reynolds has more than eight years experience in portfolio administration, and holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Prior to joining Elliott Davis Investment Advisors, Reynolds worked with Smith Barney in Anderson, S.C.

She received a bachelor’s degree from Shorter College in Rome, Ga.
