Elliott Davis Manager Earns QuickBooks Advanced Certification
CHARLESTON, S.C. – August 25, 2010 – Elliott Davis, LLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast is pleased to announce that Amy Spivey has earned her QuickBooks Advanced Certification.
A certified public accountant and accounting resources manager in the firm’s Charleston, S.C. office, Spivey passed the certification exam in August. The Advanced Certification process is designed to deepen the expertise of ProAdvisors who are already knowledgeable in QuickBooks, as well as distinguish them as highly proficient in this field.
To be eligible for Advanced Certification, professionals must complete 2008, 2009, and 2010 QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification courses; pass the QuickBooks Advanced Certification exam with a score of 85 percent or higher; and complete a bi-annual Continuing Education requirement.

Senior Associate Dustin Formo Among Inaugural Class for Emerging Leader Program

Launched by gsSCENE for Young Professionals, part of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, gsLEAD was created to advance future leaders through personal development, training and mentorship. Working with the Waccamaw Community Foundation and Chapin Foundation, the program aims to connect local nonprofits with young professionals to serve on boards and committees.
Formo along with the nine other participants will complete a six-month development program that includes 25-hours of classroom training and board observance/mentorship.

CHARLESTON, S.C., Aug. 11, 2010 – Elliott Davis, LLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, is pleased to announce that Tobey Eskew, a senior assurance manager in its Charleston office, has earned the credential of Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF).
Eskew, a certified public accountant and certified fraud examiner, has more than 12 years of experience serving financial institutions. As a CFF, he is able to provide specialized forensic accounting services related to bankruptcy, insolvency and reorganization; computer forensic analysis; economic damages calculations; fraud prevention, detection and response; financial statement misrepresentation; and valuations.

Jim Bourey to Join Elliott Davis

Elliott Davis Admits New Shareholder in Financial Services Practice
CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 1, 2010 – The shareholders of Elliott Davis, PLLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, have admitted Lee E. Haynes as shareholder in the firm’s Charlotte, N.C. office.
Haynes, a certified public accountant with nearly 20 years of experience, focuses on providing assurance services to financial institutions and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting. His experience includes working with the firm’s largest financial institution clients including auditing internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
Haynes formerly served as a senior manager in Elliott Davis’ Greenville, S.C. office.

Elliott Davis Tax Manager Graduates from Leadership Grand Strand
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., May 10, 2010 – Elliott Davis, LLC, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting services firms in the Southeast, is pleased to announce that Scott Leister, a tax manager in the firm’s Myrtle Beach office, graduated from Leadership Grand Strand on May 7.
Sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, the program’s goal is to develop a corps of informed, committed and qualified individuals capable of providing dynamic leadership for the Grand Strand area.
For class participants to graduate, they must complete a nine-month program and a minimum of 100 hours of community service. This year, participants assisted the Salvation Army Angel Tree, Youth Leadership Academy, Horry County Disabilities and Special Needs Bike-A-Thon.
Leister graduated alongside 24 other program participants.
